Intentionality and Inclusion

As airlines continue to define what air travel in the 21st century looks like, it is clear that two pillars guide their collective focus: intentionality and inclusion.

Intentionality. Airlines are intentional. Flight attendants walk the aisles of their aircraft, assisting passengers with bag storage. They inform individuals of safety measures that could save fliers’ lives. Attendants even offer complimentary drinks and snacks, fostering a welcoming environment miles above the ground. These examples—few of many—show firsthand the intentionality behind flights. Every action is purposeful. But even the most purposeful actions can leave some feeling left behind.

Inclusion. Inclusion is an important element to fostering a friendly environment in the sky. With 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 13 children suffering from food allergies, odds are that 10 or more people on each flight can’t eat the complimentary snacks provided. This creates unintentional alienation on the airline’s part. As society continues to trend in the positive, inclusive direction, airlines need to be conscious not only of making people feel welcome, but seen. That’s where McYoung Foods comes in.

We let airlines get back to what they are doing best—fostering intentional, inclusive community—by providing them the only allergen free granola made in a nut/tree nut free facility in the United States. Besides having a great taste, this granola is a sign to all passengers that airlines understand the alienation that is created when individuals are forced to make dietary and lifestyle changes.

Oftentimes, it is the little things that make the biggest impression. AWESOME GRANOLA™ empowers you to be both intentional and inclusionary at the dinner table, on a hike with friends, or even as you take to the skies.
